Grades 10 & up
In Spanish 2, students continue to develop their proficiency in different modes of communicative competence:
• interacting with other speakers of Spanish
• understanding oral and written messages in Spanish
• making oral and written presentations in Spanish
Students will begin to show a greater level of accuracy than during the previous year when using basic language structures and are exposed to more complex features of the Spanish language. They continue to focus on communicating about their immediate world and daily life activities. They read material on familiar topics and write short, directed paragraphs. Emphasis continues to be placed on the use of Spanish in the classroom as well as on the use of authentic materials to learn about the culture.
