Course Description+

Physics will provide students with an introductory study of the theories and laws governing the interaction of matter, energy, and the forces of nature. Topics will include kinematics, dynamics, energy, work, power, heat and thermodynamics, wave characteristics, light, electricity, magnetism, and nuclear physics. Virtual laboratory activities, which include the use of the scientific method, measurement, laboratory apparatus and safety, are an integral part of the course.

Prerequisite: Algebra 2.

This 6-week course is offered for first time credit, for credit grade replacement, or for non-credit enrichment in preparation for taking the course in the future. Please check with your school regarding credit from outside institutions.

Session 1A: 6/09/25 - 6/27/25 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) (EST) - 0.50 credit
Session 2A: 6/30/25 - 7/18/25 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) (EST) - 0.50 credit - Closed 7/04/23

6 weeks course

For full 1.00 credit the student MUST complete both 'A' sessions (6-weeks)
For 0.50 credit or audit the student may take first session only “2A” (first 3 weeks)

Meet Charles Huber+

Charles Huber was an aerospace engineer for the Department of Defense for 35 years. He retired in 2016 to become a teacher because he wants to inspire young adults to make the world a better place. He was a certified Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University professor teaching college dual enrollment engineering and physics classes to high school students, and, in 2017, he was selected Palm Beach County Beginning Teacher of the Year. Charles brought his considerable talents and experience to the American Heritage School family in 2019.

Additional Course Information+

A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll. A specific teacher is not guaranteed. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording. Students must be age appropriate for the course. Young children must be supervised by a parent at all times. It is the parent's responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course.
