In French II honors, students continue to develop their proficiency in different modes of communicative competence:

1. interacting with other speakers of French
2. understanding oral and written messages in French
3. making oral and written presentations in French

Students begin to show a greater level of accuracy than during the previous year when using basic language structures and are exposed to more complex features of the French language. They continue to focus on communicating about their immediate world and daily life activities. They read material on familiar topics and write short, directed paragraphs. Emphasis continues to be placed on the use of French in the classroom as well as on the use of authentic materials to learn about the culture.

This 6-week course is offered for non-credit enrichment or for credit in preparation for taking French 3 Honors..

Meet Dr. Celine Guillerm+

Dr. Celine Guillerm is a native French speaker who moved to Florida from Paris to pursue her studies. She holds a Master's in French as a Foreign Language from the Université de Poitiers. She also holds a Master's in French Literature and a Ph.D. in Comparative Studies. Dr. Guillerm has been teaching French at American Heritage Schools for the past 13 years. She teaches all levels from Junior High to AP French and is in charge of the French competition team and the French Honor Society. She is also an AP reader for the College Board.

A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll, and a specific teacher is not guaranteed. It is the parents’ responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course. For online courses, the students’ cameras MUST be turned on at all times, and attendance is mandatory. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording by students during the course. Students must be age appropriate for the course, and all students must adhere to proper online etiquette. For online courses, young children must be supervised by a parent at all times.
