Linear Algebra is a High Honors, semester-long, three week course in linear algebra topics. This course will explore linear systems of equations, matrices, vectors, vector spaces, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and linear transformations and their applications.
Derek Rampal has 5 years of experience teaching full-time at the college level where he has taught courses from adding and subtracting to differential equations and algebraic structures. He feels lucky to teach and coach the Math Competition Team at American Heritage School as they have enjoyed a great deal of success. Currently, Derek teaches AP Calculus, AP Physics C - Electricity and Magnetism, Multivariate Calculus, Differential Equations, and Precalculus Honors for Math Competition.
Radleigh Santos has ben the head coach for American Heritage School's Math Competition Team for the past 16 years. He was instrumental in building this program and taking it to State and National Championships. He is an alumnus of and an educational counselor for MIT and has a Ph.D. in Mathematics from FAU. He worked for 8 years at the Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Sciences, where he was the Director of Mathematics and Biostatistics. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Statistics at Nova Southeastern University.
A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll, and a specific teacher is not guaranteed. It is the parents’ responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course. For online courses, the students’ cameras MUST be turned on at all times, and attendance is mandatory. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording by students during the course. Students must be age appropriate for the course, and all students must adhere to proper online etiquette. For online courses, young children must be supervised by a parent at all times.
