The student will be introduced to the most basic freedoms Americans hold dear to their hearts. This course will expand to include the institutions of American government (three branches), how they check and balance each other, how they share powers, how they make policy, how they operate in our political culture, and most importantly, how they react to the American voters and public opinion. Political parties will be discussed as well as the political process of campaigning.

This 3-week semester course is offered for first time credit, for credit grade replacement, or for non-credit enrichment in preparation for taking the course in the future. Please check with your school regarding credit from outside institutions.
