Course Description+

This enrichment program is for students entering third grade who are looking for an advanced curriculum as they prepare to thrive in third grade. Through differentiated instruction, teachers will bring each learner to the next level. Students will work on more sophisticated vocabulary and literature to help with analysis. Math will include concepts of logic, reasoning, and problem solving. This enrichment program also includes time each day for students to participate in fun outside activities. Students in this course will transfer to their age appropriate camp cabin for all afternoon camp activities.

Each session is unique, so your child will benefit from taking more than one session.

Meet Samantha Reinckens+

Samantha Reinckens currently teaches third grade at American Heritage Schools. Mrs. Reinckens holds a Master’s degree in Educational Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has her state certifications in PreKindergarten/Primary Education, Elementary Education K-6th Grade, and Reading K-12. Ms. Reinckens has also been trained in Orton-Gillingham instruction. Ms. Reinckens has been in the field of education for over 15 years. She has taught PreK-3 through 4th grade and specializes in differentiating curriculum and accommodating diverse learning needs.

Meet Andrea Spradling+

Andrea Spradling has been part of the American Heritage School English faculty for 16 years. She holds a BA and a MS in Education and is certified in ESE K-12, Elementary School and Junior High Grades English (7-9th). Her passion is helping students with learning differences reach their academic potential. She is currently teaching Reading Lab pull outs for grades 2-10th, Writing Seminar for grades 9th and 10th, Great Books, and Literature & the Arts 7. Andrea incorporates strategies, tools, and assistive technology that benefit students of all levels. She helped to launch and teach the first American Heritage School summer program for elementary grades and has continued to be part of the summer programs at American Heritage Summer Institute.

Additional Course Information+

A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll, and a specific teacher is not guaranteed. It is the parents’ responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course. For online courses, the students’ cameras MUST be turned on at all times, and attendance is mandatory. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording by students during the course. Students must be age appropriate for the course, and all students must adhere to proper online etiquette. For online courses, young children must be supervised by a parent at all times.
